Event type: In-person

Cambridge Sunburst Hackathon

The Cambridge Sunburst Hackathon is hosted by lowRISC and the Sunburst Team at the Cambridge Department of Computer Science and Technology. This event will introduce you to working with CHERIoT and the Sonata platform.

The morning sessions will be a structured lab teaching the basics of developing CHERIoT software on Sonata. The afternoon will be freeform, where you can explore your own ideas for Sonata with support of suggestions and starting points from the hosts.

It will be an opportunity to meet with engineers working on the Sonata platform and to try out the Sonata board. The aim is for lowRISC to assist in the challenges that arise from using the Sonata board and to demonstrate how CHERI technology is beneficial in a wide spectrum of use-cases.

If you have a Sonata board* then please bring this along with you . Should you have any specific hardware you’d like to interface with the Sonata board feel free to bring it along too. Though do get in touch to let us know what you want to do beforehand so we can do our best to ensure it’ll be successful!

We will reach out to attendees to understand what types of systems you will bring and provide guidance on how to prepare your laptops for working with the Sonata boards in advance of the event.

* Note: If you need one please get in contact to request one
