Security Research Showcase

Thursday 26 January 2023

Cambridge University West Hub, JJ Thomson Avenue
Cambridge CB3 0US

This Security Research Showcase highlighted some of the security work going on in areas from software compartmentalisation to cybercrime. It featured a series of lightning talks by early-career researchers.

Two researchers discussed aspects of the CHERI cybersecurity technology – which leads the government’s Digital Security by Design programme – including CHERI software compartmentalisation.

In his talk on ‘CHERI memory safety: software stack and ecosystem’, Research Associate and PhD student Konrad Witaszczyk discussed the current state of available memory-safe software for CHERI.

Then fellow PhD student Dapeng Gao talked about ‘Library-based software compartmentalisation for CHERI’.
