The FreeBSD Foundation in partnership with Innovate UK are proud to announce the inaugural DSbD Ecosystem Beacon Awards to celebrate DSbD innovators working with and enhancing CheriBSD, one of the notable current breakthroughs made possible by FreeBSD.
The Call for submissions will open on 24 January 2024 and close on 14 February 2024. Submissions across the DSbD ecosystem are welcome that can showcase impact of work that has been completed or work that is currently being delivered that uses and enhances CheriBSD.
Eligible submissions are those coming from all members of the DSbD ecosystem who are invited to the DSbD All-Hands event. Submissions will be assessed by independent judges. The Beacon Award categories are:
- Adapting existing applications to run on Morello or CHERI-RISC-V with memory safety on CheriBSD
- Code bases verified on Morello
- Refactoring code to use CHERI compartmentalisation
A total of $10,000 in award monies will be awarded to winning submissions.
Awards winners will be announced during the DSbD All-Hands event in London on 13 March 2024.
