CHERI and Safe Languages

C and C++ are unsafe languages that open the door to cyber-attacks. A solution could be to re-write computer codes in safe languages like C# or Rust. But is it doable? And what would be the cost? David Chisnall, from Microsoft Research, explains how CHERI can come to the rescue and bridge the security gap between safe and unsafe code.
